Policies & terms
The terms you accept when you enter an event run by Sppeak, and how your details are handled.
Version v1 — these are the terms recorded against your entry when you accept them.
1. Terms & conditions of entry
These apply to every entry submitted through this page.
- Your entry is confirmed only once Sppeak has received your entry fee and checked your payment proof. Until then your place is not held.
- Entry fees are not refundable once an entry is confirmed. If Sppeak cancels the event or a whole category, the fee for that category is refunded.
- Categories may be graded by standard of play. Sppeak holds the right to disqualify a team from a graded category — for example Intermediate — if it finds the team is not eligible for that grade, and the entry fee will not be refunded in such a case. Please register promptly and in the grade that genuinely reflects your standard.
- A player may enter ONLY ONE category in this event. Choose the grade that genuinely reflects your standard — see clause 3.
- An entry covers one team in one category. If you need to change category before the draw is made, contact Sppeak rather than submitting a second entry.
- Places may be limited and are allocated in order of confirmed payment.
- Draws, seeding, order of play and match timings are set by Sppeak and may change at short notice. Keep the phone number you registered with reachable.
- Report at the venue by the time you are given. A team that is not ready to play may have a walkover awarded against it.
- Sppeak may cancel, postpone or reschedule the event, or change a category's format if the number of entries requires it.
- On eligibility, grading, draws, scoring and disputes, the decision of Sppeak is final.
2. Privacy notice
Sppeak collects your details to run this event. Athelite Tech provides the technology that stores them.
- What we collect: your name, phone number, email address, date of birth and gender; your partner's details; and, where a player is under 18, a guardian's name, relationship and phone number. We also keep the payment proof you upload.
- Why we collect it: to take your entry, verify your fee, build draws and schedules, publish results, and contact you about the event. A minor's guardian details let us reach a responsible adult in an emergency.
- What is public: a player's name, category, draw position and results appear on public draw sheets, order of play and leaderboards. Phone numbers, email addresses, dates of birth and guardian details are never published.
- Who else sees it: officials of Sppeak running the event, and Athelite Tech as its technology provider. We do not sell your details and we do not share them for marketing.
- Payment proof: the screenshot or receipt you upload is visible only to Sppeak, and is kept to reconcile entry fees.
- How long we keep it: for the event, and afterwards as a record of results and payments. Ask us and we will delete what we are not required to keep.
- Your choices: you can ask to see the details we hold, have them corrected, or withdraw a consent you gave. Withdrawing a consent that an entry depends on may mean the entry cannot stand.
- This notice is written to follow India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
3. Players' code of conduct
Everyone entering this event accepts the following.
- Treat opponents, partners, officials, volunteers, venue staff and spectators with respect.
- Call your own lines honestly and play to the spirit of the game.
- No abusive, threatening or discriminatory language, and no physical aggression.
- No racket or equipment abuse, and no damage to the venue.
- Arrive on time and ready to play, in appropriate sports clothing and non-marking court shoes.
- Do not play under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and follow the venue's rules on smoking and alcohol.
- Harassment of any kind is not tolerated. Report anything of the sort to Sppeak immediately.
- Players under 18 remain the responsibility of their guardian, who must be contactable throughout the event.
- Do not bet on any match in this event.
- A breach may lead to a warning, a point or game penalty, or disqualification from the event without a refund.
4. Liability & injury waiver
Please read this before you accept it — it affects what you can claim if you are hurt.
- Padel is a physical sport. Playing carries a real risk of injury, including sprains, fractures, collisions with a partner, opponent, wall or racket and, rarely, serious injury.
- By entering you confirm that you are medically fit to play, and that you have told Sppeak about any condition that could affect you on court.
- You take part at your own risk and are responsible for arranging your own medical or accident insurance. Neither Sppeak nor the venue provides cover for you.
- So far as the law allows, Sppeak, the venue and Athelite Tech are not liable for injury, illness, loss or damage suffered during the event. Nothing here removes liability that cannot be excluded by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by their own negligence.
- You consent to Sppeak arranging first aid or emergency medical treatment if you are unable to consent at the time, and you are responsible for the cost of that treatment.
- Look after your own belongings. Sppeak and the venue are not responsible for property lost, stolen or damaged at the venue.
- Where a player is under 18, the guardian who submitted the entry accepts this waiver on their behalf.
